Trojan Wresting Club
Wrestling is an individual sport that teaches balance and core strength that can be used in all sports. It is one of the few sports where everyone gets the opportunity to compete no matter their size or skill level.
Osawatomie established a youth Wrestling Club in 1972 and they have been in existence ever since! Although this Club is a private community organization, and not officially part of Oz Rec programming, we believe in supporting our local athletic programs.
The Trojan Wrestling Club is a competitive wrestling club that builds character, teaches youth how to overcome obstacles, handle emotions and respect authority, teaches the importance of being a good teammate, and that success has to be earned through hard work and determination.
Wrestling Season: November - March
Practice Dates & Time: Monday & Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Location: Practices are held in the Wrestling Room within the Osawatomie High School (100 Trojan Drive, Osawatomie)
If you are interested in joining or learning more about the Trojan Wrestling Club, please contact them directly at Email Osawatomie Wrestling Club.
You can also follow them on their Facebook page.
Every year in November, before the official Club practices start, Oz Rec offers a special 4-week "Introduction to Wrestling" course to teach the fundamentals of wrestling and allow youth to investigate the sport and the Trojan Wrestling Club's program.
Any youth who is interested in continuing to wrestle after that course will then be required to register with the Trojan Wrestling Club.
